WhyMobile is a Singapore electronics retailer established in 2004, holding an IMDA telecommunications dealer licence. As one of Singapore's longest-running independent mobile phone retailers, WhyMobile is known for transparent and competitive pricing on new and refurbished mobile phones, tablets, and other electronic devices. All refurbished products undergo rigorous testing and refurbishment to meet WhyMobile's quality standards. WhyMobile also offers device repair and trade-in services at its retail store at Far East Plaza, near Orchard Road.

A little history of our journey of over 20 years...

Apr 2004

Business registered. First website launched (static site).

Jun 2004

Refreshed website after numerous customer feedback.

Jul 2004

First retail outlet (push cart) in front of Plaza Singapura.
— Convenient collection point for our customers.

Feb 2005

Second retail outlet (push cart) under Golden Shoe Carpark, near Raffles Place MRT.
— Retail outlet has since closed.

Apr 2005

Third retail outlet (kiosk) along Geylang (Sims Drive), next to a durian store.
— Retail outlet has since closed.

Oct 2005

Moved retail to a physical store in Far East Plaza.

Apr 2008

Winner of top 10 website award in Singapore for Mobile Phone and Gadgets category on Experian HitWise.
— The top 3 were telcos. We were consistenly 5th to 6th.

Jun 2008

Another major website refresh to accept online ordering and accomodate more product types.
— Growing acceptance of online ordering and payment.

Feb 2009

Facebook group set up.
— Most people were still using Friendster!

Sep 2011

Launched mobile friendly site after observing growing mobile browser user base with early Apple iPhone and Android devices.

Apr 2012

Facebook business page set up. Facebook group closed.

Mar 2014

Started offering repair services.

Nov 2020

Major website revamp to accept PayNow/SGQR payment as part of Singapore's Smart Nation initiative.
